Referral Before or After Application Submission?
This may be a really dumb question, but do you try to get a referral before or after you submit your application? I ask because I am interested in applying for Sophomore Summer 2023 IB (Consulting too probably) analyst positions at GS, MS, etc. I have contacts at those firms, but is it futile to try to get a referral unless I've already submitted my application? (Hopefully I'm not too late). Or maybe I'd be dumb to submit my application without having someone already put in a good word for a referral?
