Rejected again.
After a very promising interview I received another rejection. I am a senior at a target school doing full time recruitment, with 4 different internships in AM and am still struggling. It really sucks. Some days I just wanna cry but I don't. It is so hard right now, every time I get so close it's just not enough. I don't know what to do but keep applying. It's tough, really tough though. I just want a job so I can start my life.
Seeing my friends excelling right now also doesn't help, I feel like the odd ball at a target who can't secure shit despite good experience and a good school. It really sucks.

Don't give up, what's past is past and shouldn't prevent you from being on your A Game for the next interviews.
You should ask for feedback regarding the interview / choice
They gave it to me today. It was because they "wanted someone who was more senior with more underwriting experience."
I hate nonsense excuses like that. They knew that from the beginning. Why the hell did they interview you then?
Keep going, I was in ur shoes and didn't get offer until end of the summer. Remember all you need is one offer
You're right thanks man
Change up your interview completely. If you're at a target and claim to have a good experience there's no reason why you shouldn't get offers.
Do u qualify for diversity
Just keep plugging away. Broaden your search. Good luck.

how are you even applying to firms? what applications are even out yet?
Took me 3 years and a detour to another industry first before I broke in (similar background). If you want it for the right reasons then you'll get a spot somewhere.
Sounds like you need to get hungrier. Stop whining about your target school and internships.
How many alumni have you contacted? How many other folks you know? How many friends with offers are helping you with interview prep, are they being candid about your performance? Has anyone reviewed your resume for obvious issues?
If you're not doing everything you can, you need to be. This shit is hyper-competitive, so have a cry and get back to work, it doesn't get any easier.
If you're the rare perfect candidate that people still can't see, you may have to do a detour and regroup.
Yeah contacting Alumni is key - especially from a Target. There should be strong networks in place.

The advice I needed.
