Remote boutique analyst roles - realistic or fantasy?
Hear me out. I’m a final-year student from a top Indian college with prior IB experience. After an intensive internship (teasers, CIMs, pitch decks, valuations, market research), I’m questioning the typical path in India:
- Roles are extremely hard to break into
- Compensation at many boutiques is very low (~$5K/year)
- MM/BB roles rarely hire undergrads here
So I’m considering a different approach.
What if I target US/UK/SG boutique or LMM IB/PE firms for fully remote analyst work?
I’m fine working their hours and would accept $9K–$12K/year. It’s massive cost saving for them and better exposure/pay for me.
I also built and scaled a website to 2,500+ users, so I can work independently and async.
Questions:
- Is this feasible from their perspective?
- How do I find and pitch such firms?
- Anyone here seen remote cross-border analyst setups?
- Any smaller shops on this sub open to this model?
