Response to "We are not hiring at this time"

Call up a boutique, speak to HR at a boutique and they saw, "we are not hiring at this time."

What's a strategic response?

How about:

"Can you take a look at my resume and keep it on file in case a position does open up?"

Yes, I always go with that line. What’s the worst that can happen? It’ not that much to ask and they usually say yes. You can always call a few months later and say something like, “Hi my name is so and so, school, program, I am very interested in your firm blah blah. I submitted my resume a few months ago and you said you would keep me in mind (even if they didnt’) if any position opens up. Just wondering if you are looking to hire an analyst at this time?” Or something along those lines. One MD actually said, “oh yes, I remember you.” Lol.

Actually, I’ve changed my mind. Do Not use that line. I’m still looking, so yea, hang up asap. :p

Here's a response:

"I understand that with today's current economic climate, opportunities are scarce and risks are abundant. However, I am going to keep contacting you every week because I believe in myself, and the success that I can contribute to this company."

Good luck.

Yours truly, The Young Investor
