Restructuring Outlook for SA24

Currently an incoming sophomore interested in RX. Interested in hearing from current outlook on top firms, typical hours, culture, or any other useful information. As for advice, do all the typical procedures (i.e., grind technicals, network, off-cycle internship) apply to RX? What’re some target off-cycle internship positions I should be seeking (I.e, standard boutique/regional IB/PE or something different?). Also, heard breaking into RX is incredibly competitive, more so than M&A, due to extremely limited positions and lean teams: is this still valid? Is this competitiveness due to general lack of preparedness in prospective RX bankers due to the niche industry, and would I be at a significant leg up if I start grinding technicals?
