SA Group Placement Networking

Incoming 2023 SA here, just started to reach out to different desks at the firm but I think the networking process is a bit different from the pre-offer one. When you’re applying you don’t need to be liked by everyone as long as at least some people vouch for you. But now if someone ends up not liking you / not willing to introduce you to the team, will it ruin your chance to get into their team during the summer? How does the group placement thing work exactly? Any advice / insight will be appreciated.
