Honestly, I wouldn't worry about striking out this time around. The same thing actually happened to me. Learn from it, develop some grit, and tweak your process come FT in the fall. Easier said than done.

I don't have any good advice as far as what you should do, given I start FT this summer and interned at an economic think tank as a rising senior. Maybe reach out to some of your industry contacts and get their input as well?

When I was in your situation (last year) I went with the experience that I thought would be the most interesting.

Just remember to try and maintain perspective through it all, good luck.

It is definitely worth your time. You should be happy that you were offered this position. There are many people on this site that would love to have a position like the one you were offered.

Just try and make the most of it. Like you said, it could be a good place to make some connections. Later on you can try and get recommendations from them to perhaps move laterally into another position within the company.

I kind of laugh when I see thing cause I think of people who get a Merrill wealth management internship and immediately they think they are working in banking or will have connections into ib. Well your not and it is possible to get into Ib without an internship in it. But unless you are in New York or a major city and in the same building there will be no connections
