so after getting rejected from SEO as a sophomore a few days ago and not even been granted a first round interview, i got the following e-mail today

Thank you for your interest in SEO.
Because of a system glitch your application decision indicated that you were invited to interview with SEO. Though you were not interviewed we do commend you on your many accomplishments. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused.
Unfortunately we cannot offer you a position within this summer's intern class.

I'm not exactly sure what this means. Was I basically fucked over by a "system glitch"?
nope! sorry but i think you were rejected although on their system it was written you have been invited for interviewing.
Now that's how I understand it.
got the same thing. it's a flat rejection. don't worry , always next year.
Yeah. Looks like they fucked up twice:
1) System mistakenly wrote you off as an interview candidate 2) You were then not invited to interview
Dunno why they would send that email in the first place, as it doesn't serve any purpose since you were never even notified about an interview.
