Should I be worried? Or am I just paranoid?

So I have been in the interview process with a tech banking firm for the last month. Last week I had two phone calls with the hiring managers that went well imo. The next day (Wednesday) I got a call from the firm's recruiter telling me that he heard they are really excited about me and want to fly me out for a final interview. He then emailed me a background check form to fill out which I did the same day. A couple days pass without an email from the hiring managers so I emailed the recruiter asking if he knew anything. He told me I should get an email within the next few days. Its Tuesday and I still haven't received anything. I managed to find someone online in the same position as me and he told me he had a super day with them today. Did I get screwed or am I just paranoid? This position starts in early January so I know that they are working to get offers out asap.
