Should I claim myself as Native American for higher acceptance rate
I would like to select on my job applications and business school applications that I am Native American. I’m fairly certain this is technically correct as my distant relative (great, great, …, great grandfather) from the 1600s is Native American according to Ancestry.com. Furthermore, if this methodology is not sufficient I could still make the argument that I actually believed this to be correct and I did not intentionally misrepresent.
I know some Native American families with 3 or 4 well-to-do but not exceptional children who got full rides to HYP caliber undergraduate schools and have gone on to place exceptionally well in banking. Will this strategy yield similar results for graduate school and associate level corporate jobs? Will someone accuse me of fraud later on? What else can I do to get DEI status for recruitment?
