Should I get work next summer or use that time to raise my GPA?

Long-story short, COVID messed me up big time and my GPA paid the price for it. I worked at one of the big 4 firms for 7-months in 2020, but my GPA was great back then. As my internship ended and I enrolled for my next online semester, my GPA fell off a cliff.

Now I hit a crossroad, should I intern there again next year summer and take 3 summer courses while I'm interning (which will be difficult as that firm requires 100 hr work weeks so idk how it'll be possible) or should I ditch the internship to raise my GPA (by taking 5+ courses at once) so I can apply for jobs next year fall without recruiters looking at me like I'm retarded?

For what it's worth, I know for a fact that I can get the internship again, my old boss has already asked me a couple times if I'm interested in coming back.

Thanks for your advice.
