If you have interviewed for a position but didn't get the position, would you mention in future interviews for that same position that you have interviewed before?
I have interviewed twice for the same position with a couple firms, I am always torn on whether or not I should mention it to the HR person or others during the interview.

I would not. It just opens yourself to criticism, that is unwarranted. Plus, you are probably a different person when you interviewed last time, so no need to highlight the bad in the past.
