Should I take both internships?

I will be doing M&A at a MM firm basically from the very first day of summer break, but now I have an opportunity to do another internship at a pretty good consulting firm in valuation. It would kind of work out perfect as I could start the internship after my M&A internship is done, but I would have to maybe skip like a week or two of uni which I don't really mind. I spoke about this with my friend and he said that doing two internships in the span of one summer might weaken my CV instead of strengthening it? I don't understand why? the M&A internship is like ~1.5 months and the valuation internship is also similar length which is a normal internship length. The internship timelines dont even cross over into each other so I dont understand. Should I not take the second offer?

I'm still in college so may not be the best resource, but I'd take the internship if I was in your shoes. This may not be the best advice, but in my mind, doing another internship in valuation can help you learn some great technical skills, and I'm not sure how it would weaken your resume. That being said, you still have to weigh the opportunity cost of missing the first 2 weeks of class; it could rub the wrong impression on your professors or set you behind, and if it hurts your GPA then it may not be a good choice. That being said, I'm sure some other ppl have better opinions/knowledge on this than I do, but I'd take it.

Thanks for your reply! You are definitely right, I should maybe discuss it with my future professors or something, but concerning GPA it won't hurt it as the next semester courses I have are either just exam/quiz graded or presentation and exam based and none of those will be in the first two weeks. I also think ill just take the offer.
