Should my friend take this job offer?

My friend, fresh out of undergrad, is assessing whether to take a Portfolio Management Analyst role at Hall Capital Partners in SF--does anyone know about the exit opps / career path/ anything at all? Seems like they are well-respected:

Is this an asset management or private wealth management firm?
From Glassdoor, starting pay seems to be a respectable 65k, and then 85k (not including bonus) or so for associate (which I assume to be a couple years after).

My friend is concerned about his exit opportunities starting out at this place--should he be? He wants to eventually move to a bigger asset management firm such as Blackrock. Would this set him up and what career path would someone take with this as a first job? Would you want to get a CFA with this job? This is from the Analyst role description:

RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW:

• Produce quarterly client reports that incorporate performance analysis, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Track and analyze performance data
• Assist in managing client transactions including stock sales, wire transfers, charitable gifts, and investment funding
• Communicate with tax advisors and investment managers to assist in gathering tax data
• Special projects, as needed, which can include recruiting, research liaison, systems processes and automation

I know this company -- it has a very good reputation here on the West Coast. Katie Hall is a Stanford GSB alum, and has connections everywhere.

Their recruiting is pretty rigorous, so your "friend" should be pretty happy to have gotten the offer.

Many analysts go on to business school after a few years, perhaps after doing another gig too. If you are based in SF, particularly in that building, you will be around a lot of hot PE firms (Hellman and Friedman, Farallon, for example) and analysts to befriend. Also if you get tired of the finance biz, you can always jump on the startup bandwagon and parlay financial modeling skills into a bigger role -- something many analysts do after getting tired of excel spreadsheets.
