As of last year's recruiting cycle, most interviews happened in the fall from september to december. RBC, however, is the earliest and filled up their class by July. Each bank will hold sophomore interviews after they fill up their junior class

not how it was for sophomore summer 2020, pretty much only RBC was summer and the rest was in the fall...UBS was last and was December/January

Were you involved in the process last year? Sorry for my ignorance, but if you could walk me through what it looked like that would be awesome

BB sophomore interviews will be September - January with the bulk from mid september to late october, obviously apply asap and get some referrals if you want interviews. RBC goes first and is pretty selective but you also have to sign for both summers. BofA also makes you sign for both summers but they're in the fall. UBS is usually the final BB to interview but takes the most kids, usually same ones that got rejected from the previous banks. Citi doesn't really take soph IB interns, its mostly SLP kids who do a 3 week rotation in IBD. This is for NYC offices, not familiar with satellite ones.

They basically shut that program down - need to be a hardo/extremely connected to get in now, more difficult to get in compared to GS/JPM/MS

From my own experience I didn't get asked a single technical question. At most you may get a couple very basic conceptual ones.

Wait really? Sounds great. I was expecting they would ask some very high level technical questions like paper LBOs or something of the sort.

sorry if this is a stupid question, but do you need to network to get these positions?

bump. also if you are from H/W with a high GPA and good resume is networking still necessary for the first round?
