S&T Interview without finance/accounting background
I currently work in compliance but would like to transition to an FO role, probably sales. I'm confident that I could handle the "fit" questions and generally demonstrate my interest in the position, but am concerned about the technicals, as I did not study finance in college and my current job doesn't require a very keen understanding of a lot of principles that seem to be tested in S&T interviews.
Is it possible applying with some work experience (rather than straight out of college) will yield a different interview, less focused on "hard" skills?
If not, should I just do my best to teach myself the concepts that are most likely to be tested in the interview or is that likely an exercise in futility?
