Still out of a job
June is coming closer and closer and I am still out of a job. Anyone in the same boat? I'm so stressed I can't even focus on my schoolwork.

Don't worry I'm in the same boat if it weren't for my last summer internship I wouldn't have anything, but the problem is that it is in commericial banking.
Was hoping to get a SA position since so many ft hires come from there, but hey there is still time! I hope!
Yea, I'm in the same boat. But think about it this way, you have an entire life to get a job, you have 3 months of college left. Work hard to find a job, but don't let it ruin your life.

From my personal experience, I feel like it's a waste of time trying to find a FT job at least in the near future. Maybe try to learn something is a more productive way of using time at least until the next quarter or so.
you're a smart and driven guy. things will work out.
and you know what? my motto is that there is 0 i can do at 1:14 on a Sunday Night, so I'm not going to worry about it
then don't follow it
Even at 1:14 on a Sunday night you could be looking up firms to apply to, emailing in resumes, looking to polish your cover letter one last time.
For the OP, are you talking about FT or SA spots?
What I meant was that there is nothing you can do to change the economic situation and that stressing about it isn't going to help - a lot of things are out of your hands.
Obviously, you can do all those things, but at the same time if you're still in school and don't necessarily have financial obligations its not critical to have a job right away. Particularly if you go to a top school, where things will certainly work itself out regardless in the long run.
A job won't magically come to you, but don't feel like you have to move heaven and earth to find one either, at least while you're in school...just focus on enjoying your senior year, keep up in your studies and do some networking and job searching on the side.
Just hang in there - I have a job, but I have been in your shoes before for SA stuff. Honestly, just know that you can always move to costa rica if things don't work out.....
But really - just don't stop trying and something will work out eventually
I'm talking about FT but I'm sure people looking for SAs are struggling, and even if you have a SA who knows what will happen this summer
Its strange because 95-99% of my friends have jobs with BBs and top boutiques even though the market sucks. I feel bad complaining to them, and my parents work in BO at a bank thats going through a merger so I can;t talk to them either.
This kind of thinking is what seperates Ratatoullie and mcds from getting jobs. If I were both of you I would be extremely stressed. The more time you are "Enjoying" your college experience the more "Opportunities" you will probably miss. I would stress that you start looking and stop enjoying. Stress and motivation go hand in hand.
mcds, that's terrible advice. We know you mean well, but telling the OP to "stop stressing and enjoy senior year" will not do him any good. Senior year is lax as anything from an academic standpoint -- the OP needs to turn up the notch in looking for jobs.
