Stuck with Retail Job for a year, ADVICE NEEDED :(

Hi Guys, so it is actually my first time being on this forum through a recommendation of a friend of mine. Because of my Permanent Residency (PR) application in Canada, I've currently stuck working in a brainless optometry retail position until my application being process within April 2022. Previously I worked as a teller at RBC for 1.5 years before forcing myself to transition to this retail job since I'm running out of time for my post-grad work permit and I wasn't being able to be promoted at RBC in time (Financial Advisor position needed to qualify for PR). I've been researching different sectors of the financial industry (IB, Corp Fin. , Commercial Banking etc) and would really want to properly set foot into the analyst role. I know certifications such as FMVA might help build my resume, but aside from that, I would like to ask for advice on what can I  work on during this year so that I can at least have a higher chance set foot into the industry once I got my PR in April.
