Success through Banks’ job portals as experienced hires? Cover letter needed?
I was wondering if anyone has had success getting interviews and/or securing Experienced hire jobs by applying through banks’ job portals (could be for IB, their PE/merchant banking teams, etc)? And also, whether a cover letter is actually needed these days?

Actually just recently went through an interview process for a structured products team at a top BB - applied through the career portal with no cover letter.
Whether or not I receive an offer remains to be seen though. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for the data point. Mind me asking what title you're looking at - Associate? VP? Director? I'm curious if seniority plays a factor in these lateral/experienced hire considerations...
