Summer Dilemma - A tale of two offers
Hi Everyone,
I'm currently a sophomore at a non-target (since a youngin' I had dreams of gettin' rich). I tried really hard to land an IB gig for this summer but I came up short and am now left with two options. An investment compliance internship at a Fortune 100 company or an unpaid internship at a small PE firm near my school. The compensation for the Fortune 100 is great but it's in another city so I'd have to relocate for the summer. I'm just concerned that the compliance aspect won't sit well with recruiters next year when I am trying to land the big post junior year internship. I don't really want to work unpaid but feel that the skills learned at the PE firm would transfer well to IB. What do you guys think?
As long as you'll get to do some real work and not strictly fetch coffee, PE gig.
Thanks, it seems like it will be meaningful work.
