Summer Networking

I'm working in NYC as a sophomore summer intern in wealth management / AM at a medium sized firm. Ideally, I want to land a junior year BB/EB, and I understand that there is an advantage to networking during the summer in person. How do I go about doing this? When can I schedule coffee chats, and will my firm be okay with this?
