Superday callbacks?

Does not hearing back within 24 hours mean dinged? I had a superday for GS on Thursday and haven't gotten a call back yet. One of my interviewers told me to "expect to hear within the week". But I've heard offers are given out within a few hours..should I lose hope?

yes, it's the GS accelerated one. They told us we would hear back by a week, but I've always heard/read on here that GS likes to give out their offers that night.

Did your friend get an offer?

I interviewed with IBD. I'm not sure, most everyone I have spoken to says that they made their decisions within an hour or so after the interviews, and let you know asap

Some people hear back the next day, it means they're on the top of the list. But if you don't hear back till later I'm sure that doesn't mean you're dinged for sure... Last season I heard back 1pm the next day and I was told I was the 2nd person they called, so hopefully that gives u a better timeframe.

What good does it do you to worry now, anyway? Just chill or focus on your next interview. If they want to hire you, they'll call, if you don't hear back in a week, you're probably being waitlisted, since they're waiting to hear back from people they called first. If that's the case, they'll tell you too, and after that, you can hear back as late as another person's offer deadline, which I have no idea how long that is in the accelerated process, but I'm guessing 2 weeks since it's not standard OCR...

I don't accept sacrifices and I don't make them. ... If ever the pleasure of one has to be bought by the pain of the other, there better be no trade at all. A trade by which one gains and the other loses is a fraud.

WTF? This is the second post in 24 hours of "OMG! It's been 2 hours since my interview and I didn't get an offer!!!!11!!!ELEVEN!!! Can i haz call now???"

CHILL THE F OUT!

I've been on the hiring side of things plenty of times (IT world) and these decisions don't come together quickly. Forget what other people have told you. Every experience is different and it's the Holiday season. You guys really expect to hear back that fast?

Don't sweat it for now. Just wait a week and a half and if you haven't heard anything it would be appropriate to check in, reiterate interest, and ask politely about their hiring timeline. I didn't hear for a little over a week when I was given my FT offer. It just depends the bank and the situation. I was worried too but you just have to realize its nothing that you can control and freaking out won't help. Good luck

that's fair, you're right that logically it doesn't make sense to freak out. But just realize that you've been on the hiring side, you've also probably been on my side before. You get flown out there, survive an intense interview process, and get a feel for your competition..all just causing you to want the job even more. it makes sense to naturally be slightly anxious. and really, i posted this question to see what people's general experiences with GS callbacks are. but thanks for the feedback.
