Swiss Finance summer internship
I received this internship offer in my student email account and was wondering if anyone has conducted in their internship with Swiss Finance. Personally, I've never heard of this name. A few limited results speaking from an objective standpoint come up as I looked up on google. I'd like to hear what experienced regulars on WOS have to say regarding this.
Swiss Finance is looking to hire interns for summer 2010 who will research and analyze investment banking transactions, mergers & acquisitions (M&A) deals, Global Hedge fund returns, arbitrage funds and private equity investments. The research collected by the intern will be used to assist the faculty and officers of Swiss Finance, School of Business which is a highly reputed institution of higher learning in finance and business and holds summer training programs in the United Sates, Switzerland, UK and many other countries. The programs are designed to help college undergraduate students, graduate students including MBAs, as well as recent graduates, secure the best possible job opportunities in investment banking, hedge funds, strategy consulting and general management. Because of Swiss Finances rigorous training, the schools alumni regularly receive offers from top tier investments banks and other employers such as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and McKinsey, to name a few.The intern's role would be to assist by performing detailed quantitative research so that the faculty members can focus on offering Swiss Finance students the competitive advantage the students need in order to find great career opportunities on Wall Street and in other competitive industries around the world. The intern's research will cover topics such as M&A, business strategy, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, interview skills for investment banking, Wall Street culture and negotiation strategies.
Interns are not permitted to attend Swiss Finance courses, which are reserved for Swiss Finance accepted students only.
Internship dates coincide with our summer program dates, which are: June 27, 2010 to July 16, 2010.
In short, don't waste your time (or money).

If you've exhausted your range of contacts, don't want to make new contacts and would rather not reach out to local boutiques, I would say that the Analyst Advantage program here would be a much better bet:

Summer Internship in Switzerland? (Originally Posted: 10/22/2012)
I found out recently that I will be in Switzerland this summer with 99% certainty. I was born there and lived there until I am 6 (my citizenship is Swiss), but I am pretty unaware as to what the financial scene there is like. I am a sophomore though and I need a strong internship on my resume for Summer 2013.
I'm at a non-target, my school is very large but alumni in this situation probably aren't relevant. My grades are not great but I have solid experience/groups/clubs and I have done reading and courses in specific financial fields, so I feel fairly qualified to land something. I should be doing a PWM internship around campus during the spring semester as well.
Could anyone with some knowledge help me out on where I should be looking in Switzerland? My German/French are both fine so either Zurich or Geneva are fine. I have heard of the Pfaeffikon region (which seems to house a lot of HF/PE), but I'm not really sure what sort of prestige each company has there. I don't want to end up with an internship at some unknown/lowly firm just because I haven't researched right.
I am willing to do anything in a financial field...PWM, PB, IB, HF, PE, Consulting, Trading, etc...I'm not going to be picky this year, I just want a strong internship. I imagine there will probably be a lot of cold calling/cold emailing so a list of strong firms that may have opportunities for me would be very helpful. So far I've only found a variety of internships on the UBS website, everything else was pretty empty. I'm prepared to cold call/email though, so I'd really just like the names of some good firms.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
(Also for the record I fully understand that Switzerland is not the best option even in Europe for what I am looking for, but I don't think I'll have another choice).
Bump, anyone know anything?
Bump. Could really use some help.
No one?
One more bump...
