Switch from real estate PE to value stock investing

I'm 1 yr out of a west coast target undergrad and currently work at a real estate private equity firm in California. I've been in contact with some junior people at a large long value public equity firm out here for more than half a year. They're starting formal recruiting within a month and I would like to work there because it is my dream job.

I'm qualified to work there because:
I've passed the CFA level 1 exam, have read all the CFA level 2 exam material, read all the classic books related to the industry (Security Analysis, Intelligent Investor, Margin of Safety), I know my finance technical pretty well (I've been reading all the interview guides), have done some stock research and have a handful of pretty good stock picks and am able to defend them rigorously.

That being said I think the only thing that would hold me back is the fact that my GPA sucks: major: 3.1 and overall 3.2.

Do you guys have any advice on the GPA situation? Also, I heard that they're going to have a case study and I've never done one. Any information would be helpful, Thanks!

The only thing you can do about your GPA is have a story ready.

Paint the prettiest picture possible.

I'll do what I can to help ya'll. But, the game's out there, and it's play or get played.
