Tax Accounting to Fund Accountant with Exit op?

Hi,

I currently am at a regional public accounting firm outside Boston with around revenue of $2M with a salary of $58k. This was my first job at college and I've been there for a year.

I was recently offered a fund accountant position at a fund admin firm in Boston, with $300B of equity and reporting, with a salary of $50k.

I understand fund accounting can be a pigeonhole, but for someone who is looking to move into fund managing/pe analysis - would this be a good move? Even though there would be a cut in salary, would the upside of the positions further down the road be reasonable enough to jump careers?

Tax is not necessarily for me, its great and all, however, finance has always been a large interest of mine. I'm currently taking my CPA exams, and looking at schools for a masters in finance or MBA for next year.

Let me know what you think, anything would help. Thanks!
