Tech Comp in UK

Lots of people on here wish they went into tech - pretty similar pay, much better hours and more ‘impactful’ work.

Is this a US only thing? Looking at tech roles in the UK, they look much less financially rewarding - of course high finance in the UK still has lower pay, but only marginally compared to tech where it seemingly caps out at £200k (excluding quant).

SWE in quant tradings pays ~£200k for base out of uni. But mostly recruit from a very selective number of top STEM unis in Europe like Cam or Imperial. If you still don't think this to be high enough in London's cost of living, I can't say much.
