Technology Division Investment Banking Summer Internship
Hi All, I recently got called to interview for a summer analyst position at a the technology division at an investment bank.
I'm a finance major hence I'm curious as to what kind of questions they would ask. Would the questions be more technical given the division or would it be the usual generic questions?
I couldn't find any good information online and would be grateful for any help. Thanks
The questions will likely be no more technical than those you would receive from any other industry group. If you want to get fancy, you could say that you know a lot of SW / tech companies look at EBITDAS (earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation, amortization and stock based compensation) instead of just EBITDA. You could also talk about how certain companies (mainly software) capitalize and amortize certain R&D expenses. But really, I don't think you need to know anything special heading in to the interview.
Just make sure you show some sort of interest in tech. You don't need to know a ton about the space -- just find something that tells the interviewer you would enjoy working with the sector.
Are you sure it's tech industry coverage? Sounds a bit like IT work
Is it tech coverage or the technology division of a bank? They are two entirely different things. One is finance based. The other is IT based
