Also, how would you take terse "I appreciate your interest" and "thanks for coming in" responses if you receive them very shortly after sending your thank you notes?

For how you should take the responses - take it as them actually caring enough to reply to you but having far more important things than to write a long response to some guy they just spent 30 minutes of their precious time interviewing.

Depends on when you sent the email, but either way it isn't a great reflection on your attention to detail. Not much you can do about it now anyway... worrying is like sitting in a rocking chair... it gives you something to do but it doesn't get you anywhere...
