Type of interviews in Peru (Credicorp Capital, BBVA, Bofa, Lazard, Capia, LXG, Itau, BTG, etc)
Hello my friends!
I really want to read some comments about what kind of interviews you have had when you were looking for an internship or a full time offer related to investment banking, corporate banking, trading, investments, etc.
For example, I had an interview in an investment fund, the owner was an ex-Minister of Economy, that was looking for an analyst. For my bad luck, the assistant was in charged of the process. Why bad luck? because she didnt have any criteria to choose candidates because this position was for a back office analyst and she posted in linkedin a post for a investment analyst. When I met up with the owner, he saw my CV and after 1 minute, told me that I came from a top university in Peru and he was looking for students from national universities due to they are more interested in back office positions.
I had to disagree with that and he said: "Ok, thanks for coming"
Total time invested for the interview: around 4-5 hours doing my research and preparing for technical questions.
Total time in the interview: 6 minutes
Lazard, Scotiabank, BAML are quite hard. Even if you are applying for an internship position. I would say BAML has by far the most competitive process. Expect to prepare at least +10h to get a good chance. Check for recent transactions in which the banks were involved and prepare for soft/attitude/fit questions. Good luck
