Uiversity of Wisconsin. Accouting or Finance? or what?

Hi, I'd like to throw a question: What would be the best choice in major for a IB perspective? Or what would be the best major for those who wish to go to Business Field?

Any business degree is relevant for the "business" field... maybe be a bit more specific. And for IB, I would imagine finance would be a smart choice...? Use the search bar and stop posting dumb threads

I am positive that UW Madison has a department of Finance, Investment, and Banking. Honestly that fact that you did not Google this is very disappointing. (may translate into your critical thinking skills)

If you do decide to go to Madison get into IB club. You will most likely have a BB or EB job offer by graduation as it is a very good resource but it is very competitive.

Oh, thanks for your kind comment. And of course I have searched all the majors at UW Madison but since I needed more info than majors and their careers(such as comments of those who have actually graduated from UW or who are in banking area and know of UW.), I posted on WSO. Thank you very much for your comment again. Plus, I heard accountung us also nice choice. What do you think? I'm also thunking about goung to Entrepreneurship so I'm kinda between in finanance and accountung. Finance for banking, accounting for entrepreneurship.

I'd rather blow my fucking brains out on a back office wall than study accounting.

People will say accounting helps with most finance / IB roles and that has some truth. The first two or three fundamental accounting classes you take that create the base of your accounting knowledge definitely help a ton in any finance job. But you can take those as electives or self study.

Do you really want to be studying 12 different iterations of taxes / reporting methods for 4 years straight? If so then hey pick accounting.
