umd recruiting thread

hey everyone, i'm a rising senior in high school looking to apply to umd and was wondering how recruiting/finance/networking works at umd smith:

what clubs/extracurriculars are good to join to get into ib networks?

are there any important business frats?

what educational programs within smith boost your chances of getting recruited?

what do finance groups/clubs look for in prospective members, especially freshmen?

how competitive is finance at umd?

i really appreciate any advice!
