Unpaid Internships - Background Check (SA 23)
Are unpaid internships verified as a part of background check? Additionally, our hours listed on resume for internships verified with hiring manager/supervisor?
I believe so, but it probably depends on the firm. I did an unpaid internship my freshman year and a past intern called asking for documentation to show that he completed the internship. You lie about doing an internship?
Didn't lie. Just wanted to figure out if I should give the supervisor a heads up. Are the background checks usually done right now or before the summer closer to the start date?
They will likely ask for some verification
Also why are you lying about hours... if it's part time just don't say so, but don't list hours on your resume unless you are actually working them? that's such a stupid thing to lie about
