I had been interviewing with two firms and was presented an offer from one as I was still in the process with the other. They wanted me to start asap and I didn't want to be left standing when the music stopped so I accepted.
I updated my contact and HR at the other firm to withdraw my application. My contact asked me which firm I had accepted. How do I respond without causing more damage? Thanks
Just be cordial and tell the truth? Can't really give any further advice.
Pretty sure you are under no obligation to tell them which firm you accepted the offer from.
Of course you don't have to tell them... but why wouldn't you? Just tell him the truth, it'll set you up for a potential lateral move in the future. Besides, if really wants to find out, it won't be that hard (he'll just check your linkedin).
