Vandy MSF vs other MSF Programs
Hey everyone! I was hoping someone could give some insight into Vanderbilt’s MSF program, and other “target” MSF/MBA programs (deferred). I’ve looked into deferred MBA programs, specifically Emory, Columbia, Harvard 2+2, Booth, Yale SOM, and Virginia. I’m currently studying for the GMAT.
A little about me : Junior at non-target in the Southeast, graduating May 2021. I have a 3.98/4.00 majoring in Finance and Economics and a minor in Statistics (school only has a minor). I have multiple leadership positions within the University. Currently, I’m starting a Consulting Club on campus. I’m also the Director of Equity Research on our Student-Managed Investment Fund. That’s just a couple of more. I’ve worked as a Pharmacy Technician for the past 2 years to pay for schooling. I do not have any relevant work experience or internships. I did have a gov’t Finance Analyst summer internship in D.C., but was cancelled due to COVID-19. Because I have no experiences or internships, that’s primarily the reason I’ve looked into MSF programs since most don’t require experience.
My long term goal is to get into Management Consulting and IB. I understand I’ll need an MBA or MSF to get into those industries. I was hoping for advice and expertise for my specific case.
