What are my options right now?
Thanks for reading this post! I am a college senior. I go to a semi-target school but I major in humanities. Long story short. I became interested in finance during COVID and started researching this career path. I had some first rounds and final rounds, but I did not have the luck of getting any job offer in the finance industry. Honestly, this makes sense because I do not go to the B school, do not really have time to build connections, and did not have any relevant internship.
Instead, I will start as a project manager at a tech company when I graduate in 2022. The pay is decent, but I still want to break into IB. Now I am really clueless and would really appreciate any of your insights.
1. What should I do if I still want to break into IB?
2. Is it true that campus recruiting is the only option? That I cannot just switch my career without doing an MBA?
3. I think Booth's part-time MBA program is very sweet since I will be working in the Chicago area, and I can work and do the MBA at the same time. How is this program perceived?/ Is it the same as the full-time program in regard to recruiting?
Thanks!
Project manager at a tech firm is a solid placement given the background
