What are my realistic options?
I started with accounting but always preferred the idea of finance/banking/investing. I've now worked as a "Finance Business Partner" for a couple of PE-backed companies. This has meant a mixture of FP&A, reporting, budgeting/forecasting and project work. I've tried to stay away from accounting and focus more on modelling and analysis.
With this experience (qualified accountant with good modelling skills, but non-Big 4 and no IB), what would be some realistic finance career paths?
I like the idea of PE or consulting but not sure how acheivable this would be outside the usual IB/Big 4 entry routes...
