What should I do to secure a spring week before I start university?

Hello,

So I'm from the UK and planning to go to a Target or a Semi-target (have offers from both, but logistically the semi is more suitable so still undecided). I've been told how important spring weeks are, and I'm wondering if there's anything I should do in the next 6 months before I go to university to boost my chances?

I was thinking of taking the basics of financial modelling with the wall street basic package, but not sure if that'll provide any benefit at my age? I've been learning SQL and Python just for fun and took a few courses on corporate finance last year, is there anything else I might need to do?

Thank you, I don't have any family connections (literally none) but I secured 2 week's work experience in the finance department of an aerospace firm last summer, and virtual work experience at Grant Thornton. That's about it, I've found it hard to find work experience due to covid but I'll continue emailing small corporate finance firms in my area to request it.

I think I have enough on my CV to demonstrate my interest in finance though, just no experience to go alongside which is an issue.
