What to do as an undergrad to pursue a career in Credit Risk Analyst?
Hi all,
I am currently an undergrad studying at Hong Kong. I'm currently major in Risk Management and want to join IBD as a credit risk analyst. I am sophomore and am looking for opportunities that can enrich my CV. If you're a recruiter, what will be the experiences you are looking for from a credit risk analyst applicant?
Credit risk within IBD? Can you give an example of a bank that has their groups structured that way?
Not sure.. I don't know a shit tbh hehe. But I saw some threads saying credit risk analyst as a MO to BO function within IBD.
Yeah, I figured. So, the first step you need to take, before considering what recruiters want, would be to take some time and do your research on the industry and the roles you’re in interested in. I mean this seriously. Look at the websites of banks, search around on this forum, and talk to upperclassman at your university. Get an understanding about different divisions, types of firms, recruitment process, etc.
The industry can be pretty confusing if you’re not familiar with it, but you need to understand what you’re going into, not only to land a job but also to figure if it’s even what you want.
