What to do with my bad law degree and interest in programming?

Need direction. Non-Target School, GPA =2.9

I'm an international student doing a master degree in Business with some law elements at Uni of Adelaide. I have a bachelors law degree from Uni of Birmingham. I'm in my penultimate semester and I do not know what to do with my career.

I can't become a lawyer because my law degree is non-qualifying and my grades are below average. I did a bit of finance as I found it interesting at the time. I interned as an Investment Research intern at a low-key asset manager 3 years ago. Did some other investment projects but overall I do not think I have enough to apply for jobs at Schroders, Deutsche or anything like that (they never replied to my internship applications).

Having looked at my hopeless situation I thought maybe learning to program or developing some tech expertise will help me find a job. I've started to learn some of the easier languages (Java) but I only have a semester and a half before graduation. I don't think I'll find a job in tech that quickly. Student visa further complicates things.

As you can see I'm all over the place. I do not have a true passion or specific expertise. I think I'm a smart guy capable of working at top law firms or financial institutions but my procrastination habit has led me to a dead end. I've built up all these expectations for myself but they are plummeting down and I only have 6-7 months to fix it.

I still find finance (venture capital) somewhat interesting and I've had some success with it relative to my peers. I feel like pursuing finance is more realistic than tech or law given my background.

What are my options in terms of potential career paths? Where can I apply (kinda place that hires based on their own tests and disregards GPAs)? What positions can I apply for with my generic background? I feel like somehow starting my own business is my only choice at this point. I know I don't deserve any sympathy but please help me!
