I just want people to know that I figured out how to create a full scale operating model and LBO returns analysis with a DCF, despite no formal banking training. How can I or should I tell my contacts? I've just been asking them if they are willing to take a look but I've gotten mostly cold responses.

Not sure what industry you're shooting for, but modeling really isn't a big piece of IB. You want to land an interview first, then mention you have modeling samples. In all likeliness, they will probably have a modeling test for you. They probably won't care that you can build a model if they aren't hiring.

No one cares. Know how to talk about how it works and then just be an interesting person.
