When do you tell the hiring manager that you were laid off (no cause)?
I have been caring for a seriously ill parent the last three months. I was also laid off (no cause) just before I applied for time off. Now I’m considering entering the workforce again. I usually tell hiring managers I’ve been caring for a loved one on the break. Is it ok to not mention the lay off until they make an offer and to mention the no cause layoff at that point? (They can verify the no cause from my MD as reference). As a hiring manager, would learning about a lay off after all interviews are done be a turn off?
