When do you workout?

I know there's lots of topics from the past on this, but wondering if its changed with everyone back in office now. For context, I just moved to a new group and now have to be in office 4x per week. I found wfh relatively easy to squeeze a workout in the evening, but my new group will often stay in the office until 10 or 11pm before going home to work until 2am type thing. Is the answer to start waking up at 7am to fit a workout in?

Curious to hear everyone's workout schedule nowadays.

Mondays I will go to the gym before work (wake up a 7) because I can usually get to bed at a reasonable time on Sunday. I WFH Tuesdays and Fridays so will go to the gym before work those days. Then I will try to pick either Wednesday or Thursday morning to go one more time if I am able to get to sleep at a decent time the night before. If I don't make it either Wednesday or Thursday I will go on Saturday mornings.

Something Similar to this,  Big workouts on Saturday and Sundays, and then try to sneak in 45 - 1 hr on weekdays. I usually have to end up around when there seems to be a break.  - this is running

For lifting -  you have to just be efficient in the gym. Generally, I could fit my warmup - 1 main lift and min 3 aux lifts in 30 mins. if I had more time I would add a ancillary heavy lift with 3 more aux lifts and more rest.  - This is what I would do when I left the office post 10.

I think one thing I left out, is that working out may have to become quicker and your body will have to adapt.  If you are lifting for aesthetics, don't worry about a drop in weight, but push through in the faster window.  The weight will grow again.  If you are lifting for competition, you will not see growth as quickly, and you will need to start implementing a taper schedule prior to PR's / end of cycles.  Generally,  I am still convinced that it would be hard to over train, and one should go fairly hard if shortening up workouts.

You should probably use your common sense for this. For instance, if you are working on a fire drill late at night and your Assoc is around and reviewing/parallel processing, then probably don’t go. If you’re working late to turn comments to send by next morning, then yes, you should go if you want. It boils down to “do you need to deliver something urgently tonight?”
