When to go to the military

Hi everyone,

I'm a South Korean citizen who wants to end up in IBD. Wanted to know what you guys think about balancing recruiting with military service. I currently have two options .
1. Go 2019 Jan/Feb, come out of the military 2020 August/September, work in Asia or unpaid in the US until spring 2021, and then come back for spring recruiting for Junior year summer.
2. Go 2019 May, come out Nov/December 2020, then come back immediately to recruit, while taking time off of school or starting school spring semester.

Would love to hear some feedback on which one everyone thinks is better.
