Which Job has the best prospects?

Hey,

I currently have four offers. I have read about the dreaded ops dead end. I really want to get into Asset Management. I have an offer for Citi ICG Ops, Morgan Stanley Ops, Barclays IT Trading (I may get to learn how to do algo trading), and BlackRock Solutions. I'm thinking BlackRock and I know the ops route is probably dumb, but I am a computer information systems major, so it is kind of difficult to break into anything other than what I have. Any advice? I plan on taking the CFA next December.

You are telling me you turned down NYFS for all these ops jobs? Also if you had such a baller internship as you claim (you say the ft position pays 150k+ bonus) and the offer from NYFS then how the fuck were you not able to get an AM position? There is just so much stuff about your story that doesn't make any sense. I seriously feel sorry for you that you have to make up shit on wso to feel better about your ops career.

i would probably think barclays and blackrock as the better options of the four. in terms of career progression atleast. at barclays, there seems to be a better opportunity to get into trading as opposed to ops at the other bb's. and at blackrock, it will also be a good transition into pag which not only would you like doing, but the company/group itself also advertise it as something that can very likely be a possibility by 2 years-ish.
