Which job should I choose?

Hi,
I'm graduating next year and I'll probably be able to choose from several banks and locations. I will be able to take a job in the largest Swiss investment bank in Zurich, BB in Frankfurt or MM in London. I would say that I also have a chance of getting a job in BB (but not GS/MS/JPM) in London, but it would be incredibly difficult and demanding, but not impossible (I would say that the chance of getting this job is about 50%, and the other three my options are almost guaranteed). Which option should I choose? I mainly care about good pay and exit opportunities. I plan to go into Private Equity in the future. I will add that I am an EU citizen and German should not be a problem.

Hey there, future finance whiz! It sounds like you've got some exciting options on the table. Based on the most helpful WSO content, here's a bit of advice:

  1. Zurich: Swiss banks are known for their stability and strong reputation. However, the PE scene in Switzerland is not as vibrant as in London or Frankfurt.

  2. Frankfurt: Being a BB in Frankfurt, you'll be in the heart of Europe's financial hub. The PE scene is growing, and your German skills would be a big plus.

  3. London: London is a global finance hub with a vibrant PE scene. A MM bank there could offer good exit opportunities.

  4. BB in London: This would be a challenging but rewarding option. London's PE scene is robust, and a BB name on your CV could open many doors.

Remember, it's not just about the bank or the location, but also about the role you'll be playing and the experience you'll gain. Consider where you see yourself fitting best and where you'll learn the most. Good luck with your decision!

I would say that London is a very good place to start and for PE exit.
BB vs MM depends also on what you are looking for… but in my opinion, there is no such thing as a choice or dilemma with hypothetical opportunities. Try to get this BB offer and then you will ask yourself which one is the best.

Vs BB in Frankfurt ?
Depends on what BB we are talking about, for example GS Frankfurt is the European hub for a lot of their industry teams… so I would say BB in Frankfurt over MM in London.
Kind of hard to tell without all the info honestly
