Who here is trying to transition careers?

I've been thinking more and more lately about how to properly go about transitioning in your career. I feel like in almost all of our careers, a time will come when we consider this, and I wanted to see if I could collect some best practices here.

What tools/tips have you all found for jumping from one industry to the other?

Who here has attempted to go from BO/MO or CF to IB a few years out of college or later in life? How did you do it/how are you trying to do it?

What about going from technology to investment banking or IB to tech?

Tech to government? I think you get the idea.

Are there best practices or services out there that can help? Did you use a recruiter? Friends and family?

Let me know, and let's see if we can find ways to help each other here.
