Why you shouldn't trust anyone in Q4

So I joined this Asian investment bank as an intern, who now is suffering from losses (need I say the name?). Two months into my internship (off-cycle) in March, my analyst tells me, off-the-record, that I will surely get a PPO out of the three interns.

Well, so far so good? New financial year begins in April and boom!! There you go, a "Global RESTRUCTURING", group CEO announces job/cost cuts and whatnot. Wait for it... still, the members of the Global Markets team gets their highest ever bonus (even after a poor performance across regions like EMEA, Americas).

And I'm just like, whaaattt? whyy? So that's me, now I contemplate life thinking (rather convince myself) how IB isn't right for me haha. Then I read the news about DB, and I am like wowzers..I am still in a better place.

About me: engineering undergrad ('19), looking to pursue a MiM (masters of MEMEGEMENT).
