Working in an IBAB MO, too late to transition to FO?

I have been working in an IBAB in an MO role in the Infrastructure space for the past 1.5 years. I graduated from a target Uni with a standard GPA (Upper Second) in Economics, but did not apply early enough for any summer internships in Uni, so couldn't land any IB/FO role. I am currently facing a dilemma - there is a full-time position open in a different MO team in my department (so not Infrastructure), but I am unsure if I should take it. The work is similar to what I am doing now, and the pay is better, but I am not sure if I am trapping myself away in doing a role I will not enjoy with virtually 0 exit opportunities.

I have been looking at other roles too, but it seems that my 1.5 years of experience is not relevant to these, and I do not have much of a chance. I have been looking at an MSF to transition, but it is extremely expensive and I can't afford it unless I get a scholarship or take a student loan.

So does anyone have any thoughts/advice on what I should do next if I want to transition to a more FO / IB role?
