Would online courses boost my resume? (These are courses from Duke and UPenn)

Starting August 1st, Duke University released Behavioral Finance to give investors a peak at the fallacies that can destroy portfolios.

On August 22, the University of Pennsylvania will release Microeconomics: The Power of Markets to provide an in-depth look at the financial markets.

These courses are available for free on Coursera, and you can purchase a completion certificate for $49.

Would having courses like these on my resume/Linkedin strengthen it?

I know brand recognition is big in finance. Coming from a non-target, I feel like having "Duke" or "UPenn" on my resume would help significantly. What do yall think?

Will have minimal effect, if any.

If you're not a finance major, you can mention them in interviews to show your interest. Other than that it's pretty irrelevant when it comes to recruiting.

Why not just take those courses for free. There's no point in getting the certificate if it doesn't provide any tangible skills and you might even be disappointed by these courses such as being to easy or not having too much depth.

Gonna break with the crowd. List a few coursera classes on my resume. Didn't stop me from getting offers at the top firms. Obviously don't know if it hurt or helped, but didn't disqualify and if you have an otherwise strong resume I think it shows you go the extra mile to learn.

It's like linking to your trading history or fundamental trading research blog. Fellow applicants might think it's weird but some employers eat it up.

Also these classes are actually quite practical. Likely to make you more interesting to talk to in an interview.
