Written case/presentation as part of consulting recruitment process
Hey guys,
This is actually my first post on this forum. I am looking forward to getting some great insights, and share some off course.
As part of the consulting recruitment process, a couple of student in my MBA program have to take a written case analysis (lasting anywhere from 1.5 hrs to 3hrs) followed by a powerpoint presentation to one or more consultants.
Do you have any source to practice intensively for this type of interview? A typical good practice material should have the written case and the excel data set to analyze.
Cheers,
wanted to bump this - same situation, but only 30 mins to prepare the ppt and read the case. any advice? thanks!
I am wondering what firms do this, none of the firms I know do a powerpoint presentation as part of the case, but it might be something MBA recruiting does and undergrad do not
Hi all! I'm new to the forum as well. I'm preparing for a final round BCG interview this month, which involves a written case (sounds like 45 minutes to prepare, then 45 minutes to present to a partner).
Did anyone find or know of resources for preparing for this type of interview?
What kind of candidate are you? I've never seen this for BCG

Presentation for a Boutique Consultancy (Originally Posted: 09/10/2013)
I just landed an interview with a small financial consultancy boutique in London after a phone interview. It involves a 45min discussing about my CV, basically expanding on what was discussed on the telephone and a 5 minute presentation in front of Consultants and Directors. It has to be of a non-business topic and I can choose the format.
I think I have an idea of what to do, but do I delivery it in a standard PowerPoint or something more innovative?
They're consultants. Use PowerPoint.
What are you going to talk about? Never heard of this interview approach before.
Cool, OK.
London restaurant scene. What you reckon?
Prezi or PowerPoint should do.
OK, I have a draft of my PPT.
For double-sureness would someone mind taking a look for me?
I'll take a look at it for you. PM me.
PM me and I can help.
i have a close friend who did something similar for a consulting gig - they did 'where i want to be in 5 years' and tied that really heavily into their story, which was about travelling - had mixed responses, was a risky way to go about it as they didn't use powerpoint at all - but got the offer
